1/52 Damian’s been away for a stretch of work in a remote town, something he does from time to time when we need to pay the credit card.

The kids really missed him and I’ve been providing lots of distraction. The best ones are the simplest, which is no great surprise. Like this fairy circle we made in my parent’s garden.

When he came back we went for a quick family break to the Mornington Peninsula. The kids come alive in the water. Poppy in particular. She has a special kind of gleefully laugh we only hear at the water.

We went to @briarsmtmartha today and saw an echidna, the first I’ve seen in the wild.

Covid finally got us. We’ve been cautious and ve

Covid finally got us. We’ve been cautious and very lucky until recently to avoid catching the nasty bug.

Luckily, I’ve been prepared for 7 days of isolation in our little flat for some time. I don’t mean food and paracetamol. A perk of living where we do in the inner suburbs of Melbourne is that we can summon groceries, coffee or take out to our door with a few taps on our phone screens.

My preparation was all about entertaining and occupying Poppy and Huw. A few highlights of our week at home:
🫧 Daily bubble dance parties
🖍 Rugging up to play in the garden. Chalk on the pavers and crayon on the windows.
🧼 Sweeping the chalk off the pavers. Spaying and wiping the crayon off the windows.
👸 Exploring the back catalogue of animated Disney films. Ariel has replaced Elsa as the new favourite thank goodness. She’s still a terrible stereotype but a new one.
🚲 We were so desperate to move around today we let them ride their bikes in the house!

We’re out tomorrow and wow am I excited to get my own coffee on my own two legs!! #covidisolation

Our Soul Traders Retreat was an incredible adventure that started with an epic plane and car journey for me and ended with drinks at the rock at @newfarmdenmark with the most amazing group of creative business owners:

And let’s not forget to mention the diversion created by a sting ray and a trip to the local hospital, some heavy pain killers and a day away from the spectacular Greens Pool.

Basically @b_o_w_o_n_g and I had an idea to bring together a group of like minded people in a beautiful setting to talk business and life and the all the ‘busnipersonal’ grey areas in between. And in doing so we somehow created something magical that filled my cup as much as anyone else’s.

This is definitely a #grateful moment
